 Universal Data Sharing Agreement

 In today’s complex electric system, power system data is a vital but sensitive aspect of reliable Bulk Electric System (BES) operation. Consequently, it is critical that operating entities have access to key data to allow the operating entity to reliably operate the system. The Reliability Coordinator (RC), as the functional entity with the highest authority to maintain the real-time operating reliability of the BES, must have real-time data to perform its duties under the NERC Functional Model. The NERC Standards require that operating entities share operating data with the RC.
On March 18, 2016, the Peak Board of Directors approved a new Universal Data Sharing Agreement (UDSA), effective July 1, 2016. For more information, contact Corrie Bilke.

Data Sharing allows the Reliability Coordinator to move forward on several key projects:

  • Sharing a Wide-Area View of the status of the Interconnection – a feature of WISP through the Reliability Coordinator's secure portal,;
  • Sharing real-time, ICCP data and forecast data to support reliability improvements among BAs and TOPs; and
  • Sharing real‐time and study application results based on the Reliability Coordinator's West-Wide System Model.
