The Peak Reliability's 2016-2020 Strategic Plan was approved July 28, 2016 by the Peak Board of Directors.
Rapid change requires an agile and insightful strategic approach. Peak’s Strategic Plan establishes a foundation, supported by a series of "reliability pillars," that will enable Peak to continue to deliver real value for its stakeholders by further enhancing the reliability of the Western Interconnection.
Because of the significant transformations underway in the electric industry, Peak decided in September 2015 to undertake a major revision of its plan, incorporating stakeholder input and a broad analysis of industry changes. These changes include emerging energy policy, expanding energy markets, increasing use of distributed energy resources, and the proliferation of large-scale renewable – all of which significantly change operations in the West and pose new and complex challenges.
The strategic plan sets priorities and guides activities in coming years as Peak works to build collaborative relationships with members and stakeholders, and achieve its commitment to unparalleled reliability excellence for the Western Interconnection.
